The Indigenous Adult and Higher Learning Association (IAHLA) Annual General Meeting and Conference will take place on October 2 and 3, 2025, at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront in Vancouver. Please save the date!
The event will bring together educators and administrators from IAHLA member institutes, and partners, across BC and it will provide opportunities to network, engage in professional development opportunities workshops, and plenary sessions.
This year’s conference theme is Transformation and Connection Through the Power of Language. It will highlight the work being done by First Nations to protect and revitalize the distinct First Nation languages and cultures in British Columbia.

Registration is free for representatives of IAHLA institutes. IAHLA will reimburse eligible travel and accommodation expenses up to $1,250 for the Authorized Representative or their proxy for each member institute. |

We are opening a limited number of seats for public post-secondary partners of IAHLA member institutes to attend the conference. The registration fee for these partner participants is $400. GST included. This rate has been determined on a cost-recovery basis. Due to limited event capacity, registrations for partners of IAHLA member institutes will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. IAHLA will reach out to you to confirm your registration. |

Underground public parking is available. Self-parking is $29 CAD + tax per night with in-out privileges when you register your vehicle at the time of check-in.
Administrators and educators from IAHLA member institutes are welcome to attend the AGM. Each IAHLA member institute in good standing has one authorized representative who can vote at the AGM. If the authorized representative cannot attend, they can appoint a proxy by September 25, 2025.

Please note that partners of IAHLA Member Institutes will not be eligible to attend the Annual General Meeting on October 2nd, but can participate in all other conference sessions.
Meals
Buffet breakfasts and lunches with a variety of food options will be offered. Please indicate any special dietary needs or severe allergies on your registration form.
Sharing Table
IAHLA member institutes are invited to bring flyers/brochures about resources of interest to IAHLA members for our Sharing Table. Please drop off your items at the Information and Directions station in the foyer when you arrive at the conference.
Health Protocols
As per our health and safety processes, we ask that you stay home if you are feeling unwell. Only registered participants are eligible to attend. Family and friends cannot attend the event at any time, including for meals. The decision to attend in-person events is a personal one and it should be made in consideration of your individual risk factors and vulnerabilities.
Photography
This is a public event where photography and video recording will take place. The images and recordings may be used by IAHLA and the First Nations Education Steering Committee for promotional purposes. In case of questions, please contact pseadmin@fnesc.ca.

Audio recording, video recording, AI transcription, and use of other AI tools to record at the event is not permitted.
